China’s top 5 trading partners are European Union,
USA, Japan, ASEAN and Hong Kong. China’s top trading
partner is the European Union constituting to 16.4%
share of China total imports and exports. This
amounted to 356 USD billion in value. This is
followed by USA constituting to 13.9% share -302 USD
billion worth in value. Owing to the eastern
expansion of the EU in May 2004, EU has overtaken
Japan, thus, becoming China’s largest trading
partner while Japan comes in third. Between 2006 and
2007, all countries except Hong Kong reflect a
growing trend in amount of share of China total
imports and exports.
