Below is the chart of China top 10 exporting provinces or municipalities and their shares of
China total exports for the year 2007:

The proportion of Guangdong’s share in China’s total exports has been
gradually decreasing since 2001 from 39% to 30% in 2007. This drop has
been offset by the uprising portion in Jiangsu’s share in China’s total
exports from 12% in 2001 to 17% in 2007. One of the reasons for such a
phenomenon is due to the decrease in the amount of textile and garments
sector. While garment exports in Guangdong keeps slipping, the garment
industry has flourished in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
