Shenzhen, Shanghai and Suzhou are the top exporting
cities of China in 2007. Shenzhen exports 169 USD
billion worth in value of exports, constituting to
13.8% of China total exports. Owing to China’s
economic liberalization has become the first most
thriving Special Economic Zone. Coming in second, is
Shanghai with 144 USD billion worth of exports being
exported, constituting to 11.8% of China’s total
share. Thirdly, Suzhou contributes to 9.8% of the
total exports with value amounting to 119USD billion
worth of exports.

Before 2005, it can be seen that Shanghai and Suzhou have expanded the
proportion of China’s total share of exports, while there is a
decreasing trend in Donguan’s share in China’s total exports. After the
year 2005, the composition in China total exports share of the Shenzhen,
Shanghai, Suzhou, Donguan and Beijing remain relatively constant at 14%,
12%, 10% 5% and 4% respectively.
