Guangxi Imports and Exports
Guangxi has an excellent and favorable geographic
location connecting the markets from southwest
China, south China, central China and the ASEAN
markets. The region has established trade relations
with more than 173 countries and regions around the
world. The region’s total value of imports and
exports have grown from US$ 2, 870 million in 1997
to US$ 9, 260 million in 2007, representing a 3.2
times increase over a period of ten years.

Total imports of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
have leaped by 7 times from US$ 590 million in 1997
to US$ 4, 150 million in 2007. Major import products
include: soybean, iron ores, steel products and
refined petroleum products, while its imports mainly
derived from Vietnam, Australia, US and India.

Guangxi’s total
exports have increased from US$ 2, 280 million in 1997 to US$ 5, 110 million
in 2007, reflecting a 2.2 times growth over the years. Its key exports
consist of mechanical and electrical products, textiles and garments, food,
porcelain and pottery wares, building materials and cement. Most goods are
exported to Vietnam, US, Hong Kong and Japan.
