Guizhou Imports and Exports
Goods manufactured in Guizhou Province are exported
to 124 countries and regions around the world while
the province imports products from 54 countries and
regions. Total value of imports and exports of
Guizhou province has been on a rising trend from US$
630 million in 1997 to US$ 2, 270 million in 2007,
representing a 3.6 times growth over a period of ten
years.

Guizhou’s total value of imports have increased from
US$ 190 million in 1997 to US$ 810 million in 2007,
reflecting a 4.4 times jump over the years. Major
import products comprise of minerals, raw materials,
plastic related products, machinery and plant
equipment, while main sources of imports are derived
from India, Thailand, Australia and Canada. In 2005,
Guizhou province has signed technology import
contracts, mainly with enterprises from countries
such as with EU, Japan, US etc, having the
contracted value amounting to US$ 58.2 million. The
contracts deal with industries such as phosphorus
chemical industry, information and biomedical
sector. These technologies would bring about
substantial benefits for the provincial economy in
the next period of time.

Guizhou’s exports has climbed from US$ 440 million in 1997 to US$ 1, 470
million in 2007, having a 3.3 times growth over the years. Its key export
products include: chemicals, tobacco, non- ferrous metal, machinery and
equipment and minerals and rubber and related products, while its goods are
mainly exported to US, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong.
