both the Beijing- Tianjin- Hebei economic region and
Bohai Sea Economic Zone, thus bringing tremendous

economic relations with more than 160 countries and
regions around the world. Total imports and exports
of Hebei province has soared from US$ 4, 100 million
in 1997 to US$ 25, 520 million in 2007, representing
a 6.2 times leap over a period of ten years.

from US$ 860 million in 1997 to US$ 8, 520 million
in 2007, reflecting a 9.9 times growth over the
years. The province main imports sources are derived
from Australia, Brazil, Germany and US. Its main
imported goods include: raw materials, fertilizer,
machinery and electronic products.

Hebei is a major
agricultural base in China. Besides, the province is major producer of iron
and steel. Total exports have grown by 5.2 times from US$ 3, 340 million in
1997 to US$ 17, 000 million in 2007. The province’s key export products
comprise of crude oil, cotton, fabrics, iron and steel, antibiotics and
foodstuff. Its main exports destinations are US, Japan, Australia, Taiwan
and South Korea.
