Heilongjiang Imports and Exports
Heilongjiang has economic and trade relations with
over 150 countries and regions around the world.
There are 25 first-grade national ports and 9
frontier trade areas in the province. Total value of
imports and exports of Heilongjiang province has
seen a significant growth of 7 times from US$ 2, 470
million in 1997 to US$ 17, 300 million in 2007.
Among the countries, Russia plays a crucial role in
the total volume of trade of the province. Trade
cooperation with Russia makes up more than half-
53.6% of the total export-import volume of the
province; one-fifth of the total trade between China
and Russia. Other major trading partners include US,
Saudi Arabia, Japan and South Korea.

Heilongjiang’s total value of imports has climbed
from US$ 1, 160 million in 1997 to US$ 5, 040
million in 2007, representing a 4.4 times increase
over the years. Major import goods comprise of
machineries, petrochemicals, light industrial and
textile products.

Total value of
exports has surged from US$ 1, 310 million in 1997 to US$ 12, 260 million in
2007, reflecting a 9.4 times leap over a period of ten years. Major export
products consist of textiles, garment, electronic components, grain,
soybeans and footwear. The structure of exporting products is continuously
being optimized. In 2007, the export of mechanical and electrical products
reached
US$ 2, 200 million, forming 28.1% of the total provincial exports; the
export of high-tech products reached US$ 340 million, up 8.8% from the
previous year.
