Liaoning Imports and Exports
Liaoning has established trade and economic
relations with more than 213 countries and regions
in the world. Among the countries, Japan, US and
South Korea are the major trading partners.
Liaoning's international trade is mainly processed
through the port of Dalian. Total imports and
exports of Liaoning province has quadrupled from US$
14, 910 million in 197 to US$ 59, 470 million in
2007. The trend is expected to continue as the
province continues to receive full support from the
Central government as seen from the enacted policy-
“Revitalize Northeast China”. Furthermore, Liaoning
is equipped with a solid technological base for its
production and development. These factors would play
a crucial role in the province future advancement in
both the economy and foreign trade volume.

Liaoning province’s total imports have grown from
US$ 5, 750 million in 1997 to US$ 24, 150 million in
2007, representing a 4.2 times growth over a period
of ten years. Major imports include steel,
electronic parts, rubber and tubes, while the
province’s key import sources are derived from
Japan, South Korea and Germany.

Total exports of
Liaoning province has surged from US$ 9, 160 million in 1997 to US$ 35, 320
million in 2007, reflecting a 3.9 times increase over the years. Major
exports consist of agricultural and fisheries products, raw materials,
metals, minerals, oil, automobiles, auto parts and machine tools. The
exports composition has also been optimized over the years. There is an
increasing trend in the number of industrial products being exported. In
2006, machinery exports constitutes up to 37.5% of the total provincial
exports. Major export destinations are Japan, US, South Korea, and Hong
Kong.
