Shandong Imports and Exports
Shandong province has established trade relations
with more than 200 countries and regions in the
world. Total value of imports and exports of
Shandong province has been increasing steadily from
US$ 17, 640 million in 1997 to US$ 122, 470 million
in 2007, representing a 6.9 times growth over a
period of ten years.

Shangdong’s total imports have grown from US$ 6,
680 million in 1997 to US$ 47, 360 million in 2007,
reflecting a 7.1 times increase over the years.
Major import items consist of electrical appliances,
iron ore, machinery and equipments, plastics,
textiles, raw materials and electronics products,
while major imports sources are derived from South
Korea, US and Japan. In 2005, electrical appliances
and electronic products constitute to the largest
portion of the total provincial imports- 14.2% share
in the total imports.

Total exports
value of Shandong province has surged from US$ 10, 970 million in 1997 to
US$ 75, 110 million in 2007, experiencing a 6.8 times growth over the years.
Major export goods comprise of machinery and equipment, electronic products,
steel, textiles, garments and aquatic marine products. The province major
export destinations are Japan and Korea. In 2005, textiles and costume
contribute the most to the total provincial exports- constituting 22.8% to
the total provincial exports.
